New room

So after living here for over a year, and 8 months of building up stairs and an attic conversion, 2 months of choosing a wall colour, 72 of painting and a very scary trip of getting the chest of draws up the stairs…I am finally in my new room.

So there you go, the colour of my castle.

After seeing the picture of my record player, and my friend commenting on it, I went and got my records from downstairs.  So i’ll admit that the only records that are actually mine is the Sex Pistols one but it came from a shop in Toronto and the Squeeze, Cool for cats which came from a charity shop in Camden.

I love my Bealtles love album because that was the first Beatles album I ever listened too and the Nancy S is my favourite album cover ever!!

How cool was my Mum though! I have to say My fair lady is a guilty pleasure from my childhood but check out Jeremy Iron.

I bought loads of records from that shop fo like 25p each.  I want to create something like 7min 25 secs through this.  However this look wont wok in my new room so will have to wait till I get to uni!

The M&M hit

So i mentioned this briefly in my post about a day in London but I’ve seen it mentioned in the London Metro and the business section of the Sunday Telegraph.

It’s not particularly about fashion or beauty but it does sell clothes amongst chocolate.

Yes, it’s the M&M shop in Leicester Square.  I’m not going to lie, I didn’t know it was there until I stumbled across it but it’s everywhere!

The store’s most famous location is in Las Vegas but in recent years the Mars company have opened stores in New York and Florida following with London. The London store was opened on June 13 2011 making it the world’s largest sweet store with 35,000 square feet.

It hopes to boost profits within the UK no doubt it also coincides with the M&M sponsoring JLS on tour.

It’s quite fitting that I should go to the M&M store the same weekend as Gay Pride. It’s the second year in a row I randomly happen to be in London for it.

I like M&Ms but not enough to wear as a hoodie although the pyjamas are quite cute.   My favourites are green and blue but a pot in a single colour cost around £6.95.  No wonder they think they’ll boost profits.

So i’m in London at the momment and I know thta isn’t what i’ve been taught to write a title like but it pretty sums up my day yesterday.

Basically I got dressed, and made my way into London with my sister.  We got off at Marble Arch and did Primark in about 20 minutes which is all you can possibly do in there.

After that we went for coffee in the EAT in Selfridges.  For those of you who do not know, I am a massive weirdo attractor.  For some reason people just talk to me.  So the guy next to me eating mackerel from a M&S packet in Selfridges with a suitcase was no different.  I politely turned down his offer to try his fish.

Anyway into selfridges who are helping CocaCola celebrate 125 years.

Celebratory bottle which you can buy for £1.99.  Resisting the urge to get a tattoo in the palour next door.

What was really amazing though, given i’m anti everything in relationships, was the Tiffany windows display.  Call it influence from Wills and Kate or just wedding season.

Now when I write this you’ll all think i’m posh and rich but i’m not this was an 18th Birthday treat.  My Dad took me to the Tiffany in Bond Street to choose my present. Although it’s great its just too big so I went to the one in selfriges which is now my favourite!!

So anyway the window display is various love notes, tickets and telegrams with a ring underneath it.  Now these pictures are from bond street and not great but you get the idea.

On the way to the tube station to see TAKE THAT I cam across the most amazing shop in the world!!  M&M shop near Leicester Square.  I think it might have something to do with them sponsoring JLS on tour.  On my way out I was sure that I saw David Tennant and when I turned the corner there was a massive poster of him and Catherine Tate who are starring in Much to do about nothing.   So it was probably him!

I also got stopped by a woman vox popping from Real People magazine.  Now I know this is not the most fun job in the world so I happily obliged her in answering her questions.  Who know I might be in Real People magazine next week! oooooo 😉

Take that were absolutely amazing and I love Marky Mark even more plus the added member of the band…the 65ft robot!!

Robbie of course was incredible!! xx

Parade

New girl-band parade onto our screens.

I didn’t know to put this under Fashion or Today’s post. I went with Today’s post just because it’s not all about fashion. So reletively new on the scene girlband, Parade.  I was going to write about them sooner but I wasn’t sure.  Now i’ve found that I can’t help but have a guilty pleasure for the song Perfume.   Put it all down to a stylist or whatever but you have to admit they definitely have their own thing going on with style.   I have to say though Jessica winds me up in the video when she’s in the ball pool.  I just don’t get it?

X-Factor and St. Trinian rejects, they’re starting to make a name for themselves getting the backing track for the new Rimmel London advert.

Weddings Vs Festivals

If you are not going to a wedding or a festival this year…you are completely unfashionable. The Royal Wedding kick started a long line of wedding and engagements this year with shops displays and magazines marketing the idea. Kate Moss (who we all know will do anything to stay in vogue) and Lily Allen are just two celebrities who have followed suit.

I can’t help but think Kate Middleton meets Princess Layer. But hey, if the new Duchess of Cornwall has triggered a new wave of modesty in church then excellent. Call me old fashioned but it’s just not appropriate to bare shoulders in church.

Given that weddings used to be a matching twin set and festivals was whatever you had which you didn’t care about getting scruffy it’s come along way.

Now people just want to recreate this look.

I have to say I quite like Nicole Richie here. Someone once said to me, “whatever happened between Paris Hilton and her, the answer, she grew up.”

Festival wears

This year I have pretty much ignored the festival fashion bibles.  I resigned to the fact that this year I was not going to a festival telling myself that it was ok, I did festivals last year with Glastonbury.

This year I kept telling myself that for me, festivals were last year.  I would perhaps embrace the season with a garland or two in my hair but that’s it.

That was until I got an email this morning asking me if I would cover Beach Break Live.

All this, I’m totally cool with missing out on the festival fun quickly dissolved as I realised I have nothing to wear and it’s in two weeks!!

Ever since Kate Moss graced Glastonbury in 2005 with denim shorts and wellies, they’re a kind of must.

Well that’s sorted, an ex-boyfriend who happens to be a farmer bought me a pair for my birthday, best thing to come out of our relationship.  Stripy Joules, sorted.

However don’t think for a second wellies are a must.  I lugged mine in the boiling heat for five hours at Glastonbury and they spent the entire time in the tent along with a pair of biker boots.

Garlands are a must this year.  At Glastonbury last year a larger percentage of my party worked in the head office of New Look and she told me daisy chains and flowers would be in this year.  How right she was.  Think Pixie Lott and Marina Diamandis.

Last year’s Lipsy collection, still bang on trend

I will have to ask my sister to visit Primark for me as I don’t have one near me to stock up. I only have one which I took to Tenerife.

Finally a few pictures from my favourite festival looks so far this year.
